How much does a Skilled Worker visa cost for a family?
A 3-year application including a partner and two children under 18 costs £14,142.
Read from GOV.UK's published guidance on 2026-09-19.
Two things drive that figure. Every person applying pays the full application fee — GOV.UK charges dependants the same rate as you, for the same length of time. The healthcare surcharge, by contrast, is charged at a lower yearly rate for applicants under 18, so children cost less than adults on that line.

When this answer doesn’t apply
- · It covers fees paid to the Home Office only. Your English language test, TB test, ATAS certificate and any Ecctis assessment are paid to other organisations, which set their own prices.
- · It assumes a visa of a whole number of years. GOV.UK publishes separate surcharge rules for part-years.
- · It does not apply the healthcare surcharge exemptions GOV.UK lists, including the one for Health and Care Worker visa holders and their dependants.
- · Amounts are in pounds, as the Home Office charges them. It does not convert currency.
These are limits of the answer, not a judgment about any reader’s situation. Working out which apply is yours to do.
