That is two separate charges added together: the application fee, which depends on how long your visa is for and whether you apply from inside or outside the UK, and the immigration health surcharge, which is a yearly rate multiplied by the length of the visa. The surcharge is usually the larger of the two.

- · It covers fees paid to the Home Office only. Your English language test, TB test, ATAS certificate and any Ecctis assessment are paid to other organisations, which set their own prices.
