Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information this site collects and how it’s used. You can use the free Explorer and the AI research assistant on the homepage without an account. Creating an account is optional, and only used to save your research and personalize future starting points.

Information we collect

  • Search and filter selections. When you use the case Explorer, your filter choices are encoded in the page URL so you can bookmark or share a search — this is not stored on our servers and is not tied to any identity.
  • What you type into the AI research assistant. The situation you describe is sent to our AI provider to generate a response and is logged in our server logs for product improvement. It is not linked to your identity unless you separately create an account and choose to save that result.
  • Your account email. If you create an account, we store your email address to send you a sign-in link and to identify your saved data. We don’t require a password.
  • Profile information you choose to provide. If you fill in a profile (current country, citizenship/passport country, countries you’re considering, immigration status, profession, industry, education level, years of experience, whether family may accompany you, primary goal, target timeline, language-test information), it’s stored to personalize your research starting points. Every field is optional and can be left blank or edited later. We do not ask for passport numbers, government ID numbers, full addresses, financial details, or document uploads, and you should not send us any of these.
  • Saved research. If you save an AI assistant result, we store the situation text you typed and the pathways returned, tied to your account.
  • Which country you’re researching. We remember the country you last looked at (e.g. Canada, the United States) so the site shows the right country context when you come back to a page that isn’t specific to one country, like the homepage. This is stored in a browser cookie, and — if you have an account — also on your profile, so it carries over if you sign in on a different device. It’s just a country name; it doesn’t track which specific pages you visited or when.
  • Research workspaces (“Matters”). When you save a research session from the AI assistant, it’s stored inside a workspace organized by country — one workspace per country you’ve researched, holding the sessions you’ve saved for it, facts you’ve flagged to verify, and any dates you add (see the next item). We do not ask for passport numbers, government ID numbers, full addresses, financial details, or document uploads anywhere in this feature — every field is a short label, a date, or a link, by design, not by omission. You can delete a single workspace, or your entire account, from your dashboard at any time; both ask you to confirm first, and both are immediate and permanent — we don’t keep a backup copy after you delete.
  • Dates you add (deadlines, expirations). If you add a date to a research workspace — e.g. when a work permit or passport expires, or a self-imposed filing target — we store exactly the label, date, and optional note you typed, plus how many days before it you’d like to be reminded (if any). We do not calculate, infer, or adjust any date for you — grace periods, response windows, and validity periods all vary by case and by rule changes we can’t track reliably enough to compute silently, so getting one wrong could mislead you at exactly the moment it matters most. Whatever you type is exactly what’s stored and shown back to you, nothing more. As of this policy’s last update, reminder emails are sending to a small, limited group of accounts while we confirm delivery works reliably at volume — most accounts’ reminders are stored and shown in the dashboard but not yet emailed. If an email we send to your address bounces, we stop sending to it (including reminders) rather than repeatedly trying a broken address, and your dashboard tells you this happened and how to reach us to fix it.
  • Basic, aggregate usage analytics. Standard page-view analytics to understand which pages are useful and find broken links. This does not include names, email addresses, or anything else that identifies you individually.

We do not process payments today and do not sell your information to anyone. We do not currently send automated alerts or notifications about immigration changes — if that changes, this policy will be updated first. We never use any of the information above to analyze or make recommendations across different users’ accounts — everything here is used only to serve your own account back to you.

Your controls

If you have an account, you can edit your saved profile at any time from your dashboard. From the same page you can delete a single date, delete an entire research workspace (its saved sessions, facts, and dates go with it), or delete your account entirely — account deletion removes your profile and every research workspace and everything in it, immediately and permanently. We do not currently offer a data export tool; if you’d like a copy of your data before deleting it, email us first at support@mail.immigrate.io.

About the case data itself

The decisions in this archive are public records published by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Petitioner names are already redacted by USCIS before publication; we do not attempt to re-identify anyone. Our own field-visibility rules (which fields can appear on a public page versus internal search only) are documented in this project’s methodology materials, and are enforced in the database, not just by convention.

Who we share data with

We use a small number of infrastructure providers to run the site: hosting and aggregate analytics, a database provider to store account and profile data if you create an account, an email provider to send sign-in links, and an AI provider to process what you type into the research assistant. None of them are permitted to use your data for their own purposes, and we don’t sell or share it with advertisers or data brokers.

Cookies

We use only essential technical mechanisms needed to run the site. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
