immigrate.io is a website with free tools and information for people planning to immigrate to Canada: a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) calculator, a tracker of Express Entry draws, a provincial nominee program (PNP) stream finder, guides that link to official government sources, and optional email alerts about new Express Entry draws. This policy explains what personal information we handle, why, and what you can do about it. It is written to meet Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
1. Summary
- You can use every tool without an account and without giving us your name or email address.
- Your calculator answers stay in your browser. We do not receive or store them.
- The site sets no cookies. Our analytics are cookieless and count visits in aggregate.
- If you sign up for draw alerts or for our launch email, we store your email address to send them, and you can unsubscribe with one click from any email.
- We do not sell, rent or share personal information for advertising.
2. Who is responsible
immigrate.io (“we”, “us”) is responsible for the personal information described in this policy. Questions, requests and complaints about privacy go to our privacy contact at contact@immigrate.io.
3. What we collect and why
CRS calculator and other tools
The CRS calculator computes your score in your browser. Your answers (age, education, language test results, work experience and similar) are not sent to our servers. To let you share or reopen a result, the calculator keeps your answers in the page address (URL) and in your browser’s local storage, which the Draws page reads to compare your score with past cutoffs. Anyone you send that URL to can see the answers in it. You can remove the stored copy at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser.
The document checklists and the UK fee estimator work the same way: what you tick or enter is kept in your browser’s local storage only. The PNP stream finder runs in your browser and does not send or store your answers.
Draw alerts and launch email
You can sign up for Express Entry draw alerts, for a single email when our application workspace and expert help launch, or for both. If you do, we collect and store:
- your email address;
- which of the two you signed up for;
- the language you signed up in, so emails can follow it;
- when you signed up and when you confirmed;
- a random code that links the confirmation and unsubscribe buttons to your address.
We use this only to send you a confirmation email and then what you signed up for: a short summary after each new Express Entry draw (date, category, CRS cutoff and number of invitations), and/or one email when the workspace and expert help launch. Sign-up is double opt-in: you receive nothing until you click the confirmation link we email you. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link, and email programs that support it show an unsubscribe button as well. Unsubscribing removes you from both.
Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand which pages are used. It does not use cookies or similar storage on your device. It records page views with the referring page, country, and browser, operating system and device type. Visitors are told apart only by a hash of the request, which is discarded after 24 hours, so a visit cannot be linked to you or to your visits on other days.
We also count three actions: finishing the CRS calculator, turning a scenario on or off in the score simulator, and signing up for an email. These events carry no answers, scores or email addresses, only which scenario was toggled or which sign-up form was used.
Server logs
Like any website, our hosting provider processes your IP address and request details (such as the page requested and your browser type) to deliver pages, keep the service running and protect it from abuse. These logs are kept for a short period and are not used to identify you.
Email you send us
If you write to contact@immigrate.io, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message, and use it to reply.
4. What we do not do
- We do not ask for your name, passport details, immigration file numbers or documents.
- We do not use advertising trackers or sell personal information.
- We do not make decisions about you. The tools show published criteria and how your inputs compare with them; only Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and the provinces decide applications.
5. Service providers
We use the following providers to run the site. They process personal information on our behalf and under contract, only to provide their service to us.

Some of these providers process information outside Canada, mainly in the United States. While it is there, it is subject to the laws of that country, and its courts, law enforcement and national security authorities may be able to access it.
6. How long we keep it
- Email sign-ups that are never confirmed are deleted after 7 days.
- Confirmed subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Unsubscribing deletes your address from our list.
- Emails you send us are kept as long as needed to answer them and keep a record of the conversation.
- Analytics data is aggregated and does not identify you.
7. Your choices and rights
Under PIPEDA you can:
- ask whether we hold personal information about you, and get a copy of it;
- ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
- withdraw your consent, for example by unsubscribing from alerts, which stops them right away;
- ask us how your information has been used and to whom it has been disclosed.
Write to contact@immigrate.io. We will answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
8. Security
The site is served only over HTTPS. Alert sign-ups are stored in a database table that cannot be read with the site’s public credentials; only our server code can read it. Access to our provider accounts is limited and protected. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect the information we hold and will notify you and the Privacy Commissioner if a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, as PIPEDA requires.
9. Children
The site is meant for adults planning their own immigration. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects how we use the email addresses of alert subscribers, we will tell subscribers by email before it takes effect.
